Simon Blundell

Simon Blundell is an artist and Assistant Professor (Lecturer) at the University of Utah. He earned his MFA at the University of Utah in 2003. His work has been exhibited in individual exhibitions throughout Utah, and in group shows in Utah, Los Angeles, and the world. His work explores non-linear narratives through the fragmentation of layered images. These fragments become a metaphor for our own neurological patterns of memory and experience. These images become a reflection and reaction to our contemporary experience, where most of our information about the world is mediated through the technology of a lens. As this mediation increases so does the fragmentation. As he remixes images from his own experience the viewer is invited to add their own meaning as their reactions complete the work.
