Students who sign up for the Printmaking Minor will gain an understanding of various Printmaking techniques that will enable them to explore ideas and create work that may influence and support the development of work in their major. As students become exposed to a variety of new techniques and approaches to image making, ideas may develop that take their work in completely new directions.
Although one area, Printmaking includes Screenprinting, Intaglio, Relief printing and Lithography, and all are quite different techniques. The area utilizes photo techniques (including laser engraving), tactile carving techniques, etching of metals (primarily Copper), drawing and painterly applications.
Students who intend to declare a minor must see a College of Fine Arts Advisor. The advisor will assist the student to track program requirements and will notify the Graduation Division at the time of graduation (minor) or completion of the coursework (certificate).
