Please join us in hearing from artists Martha Russo and Rebecca DiDomenico on Wednesday, February 4th, at 4:30 PM in ART 158.
Martha Russo earned a BA in Developmental Biology & Psychology at Princeton, and an MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She exhibits her sculptures and installations extensively in the US. Her work is in many private and public collections and representedby Walker Fine Art, Denver. She has exhibited her two-dimensional works in 242 exhibitions and in 27 countries. Martha has been an educator for 42 years. She is a lecturer at the University of Colorado Boulder in the Fine Arts and Mechanical Engineering Department.
Born in Greenbrae, CA, Rebecca DiDomenico graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in English Literature. Her work is concerned with the collision and interpenetration of various forms of nature, mythology, art history and metaphysics. With her innate, relentless curiosity, DiDomenico casts the net of her imagination wide. “I am interested in unexpected relationships, the way a spider web mimics a wheel, the commonality between Dr. Seuss and the Dalai Lama, the resemblance between patternsin the constellations of the stars and the minute particles inside the human body.”
The lecture is made possible through the generous support of the Carmen Morton Christensen Endowment, the Department of Art & Art History, and the College of Fine Arts.
