SETTING THE TONE: HOW EMOTION GUIDES DOCUMENTARY
Annie Eastman is a documentary filmmaker based in Denver, Colorado, whose work explores social justice and human resilience across continents. She began her career as a Portuguese Translator and Associate Producer on the Emmy-nominated They Killed Sister Dorothy (2009), a courtroom drama set in the Brazilian Amazon. Her directorial debut, Bay of All Saints, followed mothers fighting displacement from Brazil’s “water slums” and won at SXSW 2012.
