Interdisciplinary Minor in Arts and Technology
The Interdisciplinary Minor in Arts and Technology was approved in April 2007 in response to a growing undergraduate interest in digital technologies as related to the visual and performing arts and communication.
The minor (minimum 16 credits) must be undertaken in conjunction with a university major and may be completed before or at the time of graduation.
Students will develop a fine arts, experimental approach to employing digital-based technologies in the creation of art and design. Aesthetic strategies for utilizing new technology practices will be emphasized. Participants are engaged in digital visualization by including multimedia approaches to their projects. The goal of interdisciplinary collaboration is realized in work that brings together students with different perspectives based on their backgrounds and educational objectives.
