Susan Beck

Susan Johnson Beck received her BFA, MFA, and teaching certificate from the University of Utah. She also attended the California College of Art and Design in Oakland, California. She became an adjunct teacher at the University of Utah after 23 years of teaching art full time at Rowland Hall. Other professional activities include Board of Trustees of the Salt Lake Art Center, Visual Arts Committee of the Utah Arts Council, Teacher of art education for Utah State University, and teacher for the Utah Arts Councils’ Artist in Education Program. In addition, she was co-founder of Lallapalooza, a children’s art agency that designed and organized art projects for Children’s Art Yard at Utah Arts Festival as well as a variety of other organizations working with children.

She exhibits her work frequently in local venues that have included 15th Street Gallery, Finch Lane Gallery, Salt Lake Art Center, University of Utah, Capitol Rotunda, Library Square, and the Holter Museum of Art, in Helena, Montana. She has also worked with Charlotte Boye-Christiansen, artistic director of Ririe Woodbury Dance Company, and the “7 Rings” project for the Huffington Post.
