Woodshop The Department's Woodshop and Tool Room are located in the Sculpture Building, between the sculpture and ceramics facilities. They are a hub within the Department, providing essential support for all studio areas. The shop's large-end equipment is predominately Delta. A full scope of floor machinery supports a wide array of woodworking and fabrication techniques: saws (table, miter, band, radial arm, scroll), jointer, planer, drill presses, and wood lathe. Additional components include a spray booth room, full dust collection system, and pneumatic air supply. The Tool Room is adjacent to the Woodshop. Students are able to check out power, pneumatic, and hand tools to accomplish virtually any task. Tools range from belt sanders, routers, grinders, cordless drills, skill saws, to tap & die sets, hand planers, clamps, carving tools (wood & stone), and mortise jig. |
