Miniprint Gallery    Miniprint Exchange Portfolio

During the Fall of 1999, the first Miniprint Exchange Portfolio was initiated. 30 students and faculty from the Department of Art and Art History were invited to produce a small print on paper 8 x 10" and print an edition of 65. A variety of techniques and materials were used including etching, woodcut, screenprint, lithography, computer- or photo-based prints and ceramic tile. Thirty prints from each edition were then split up and collated into sets and these were given to each participant. The remainder of the prints were then sold, singularly and in boxed sets, to raise funds for the Printshop.

Funds raised for the Printshop have been used for student travel to printmaking conferences such as the annual Southern Graphics Council conferences. The project continues to be extremely successful and well received and has now become an established annual event.

Opportunities to purchase prints from the Miniprint Exchange Portfolio are available during the final weeks of the Fall semester at the Holiday Sale in the Alvin Gittins Gallery, Art Building. If you are interested in purchasing a boxed set of prints contact the project coordinator, Professor Justin Diggle
